Bring a flashlight for this walking tour of downtown Forest Grove.

Starting from the Old Train Station at 1936 19th Ave., this tour covers everything from an ancient Kalapuya legend to the 2016 "Satan's Tea Kettle" mystery.

Both history and the unexplained are blended seamlessly in this tour that is sure to entertain the entire family.

We tour regardless of the weather; dress appropriately for this 40-minute walk with a gradual incline.

Cocoa, cider, and treats will be available at the end of the tour at no extra cost.

About this event: Alvin T. Smith and his wife, Abigail Raymond Smith, were two of the earliest settlers in Forest Grove. They lived in what is now the oldest surviving house in town. At this event, we will be dedicating a new marker at their grave in the Mountain View Memorial Garden cemetery. There will be a reception with refreshments at the Smiths' house afterwards.

Many Forest Grove homes and buildings date back to the mid 1800s. Each have their own histories and energies that have made themselves known to residents throughout the decades.

Spend an evening with Stephanie Asher, a "psychic empath" who is able to sense energy and emotions and see auras in people and objects. On occasion, she visually sees "ghosts."

See historic photos of Forest Grove as you hear about community members' ghostly experiences during this 90-minute presentation. You may also share your own stories.

Suitable for those with limited mobility and those in the family who like "spooky tingles." Storytelling will take place in the Old Train Station at 1936 19th Ave. (which houses its own ghosts).

Enjoy tea and snacks.

Cherie Savoie Tintary, local collage artist, is hosting a crafting tea party. Guests will work with historic pharmacy labels mixed in with some local history.

Participants must be willing to have their photo taken. Photos will be used to showcase Tintary's craft that was published in A Somerset Halloween magazine in August.

Tickets to the event are $10. Seating is limited. Register today.
