Volunteer

FHFG always needs volunteers!

Make a difference by helping out.

To volunteer, please email info@fhfg.org with your name, contact information, and what you're interested in volunteering to do, and one of our volunteer coordinators will get in touch!

Volunteers needed include:

1. Tour Helpers
Work for our Historic Homes Tour, Garden Tour, Cemetery Tours and other events! We need people who can help during the day of the tour as well as pre-event planners and organizers. This is a great way to start getting involved and to meet your neighbors!

2. A. T. Smith House & Grounds Upkeep
Keeping the historic A.T. Smith House and grounds in good repair takes many hands! Projects range from painting, mowing, gardening, general handy-person work, and more. Come help work on one of the oldest homes in Oregon!

3. Outreach & Membership
Are you a people-person? Like working with others? We often need people who enjoy doing outreach! We often have work available for people interested in coordinating volunteers, talking to local businesses, helping to fundraise, reaching out on social media, and more.

4. Designers and Writers
Many of our events need help with designing images or layouts! If you have skills like Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator or other graphic design programs, we would love to hear from you! We also need writers who would like to write articles for our newsletter or copy for our brochures and other media. Please get in touch!

5. Museum & Historical Research Volunteers
FHFG's Museum & Library at the Old Train Station puts on displays about our local history while cataloging and preserving artifacts, photographs and documents donated by local residents. Make a difference by volunteering as a museum docent, or work behind-the-scenes doing research, scanning photos, or cataloging the collection. For college or graduate students in history, library sciences or museum studies: ask us about internships!

FHFG is committed to preserving local historic resources, educating our residents about our past, and creating a community for enthusiasts to support this mission.
Join a community of people who care about Forest Grove's history! Memberships to FHFG include invitations to members-only events, discounts, a subscription to our newsletter, and more.
