The Albert S. Sholes House was designed by the famous Portland architect, Richard Martin Jr. Built in 1910, this Georgian Colonial is styled with Craftsman features, including box beams ceilings, leaded glass, period lighting, a wrap around porch, 3 fireplaces, and built-ins throughout. High quality workmanship is evident everywhere. This house is over 5,000 square feet, with 3 floors and a full basement. A spacious kitchen with an attached butler's pantry and dumbwaiter adds to the old world charm. There are push button light switches, and Steuben glass globes from New York. Part of the charm of this home is the sunroom and the library with a fireplace. There are two Thomas Edison light bulbs in the foyer.  Want to know what an enunciator is?
